What are the best/worst heat pump systems?

10:44 ______________________________________________________________________ I am looking to purchase a 2 ton, 12-13 seer split heat pump system for my home. I am an auto mechanic by trade and have done only part time residential hvac work. I need a non-biased opinion on the best and the worst systems to buy. Reliability and parts availability are the most important things to me. Please guide me down the right path. Xenos. The best way to escape a problem is to solve it. How about Rudd or Rheem? And another question…..Is Goodman really as bad as people are telling me? Mastertech “Re(4):What are the best/worst heat pump syste” , posted Mon 21 Mar 20:54 ______________________________________________________________________ Ruud/Rheem are good units. Goodman is a cheap unit, it last about half as long as better brands like Trane, Lennox or Carrier. If u go to there web site they claim there life expectence is about 12 to 15 years. Of the ones i have installed really havent had any problems but ive replaced alot of them at 10years of age but ive seen a few that made 20years(not many). gnadz “Re(5):What are the best/worst heat pump syste” , posted Thu 24 Mar 18:59 ______________________________________________________________________ Thanks for the advice. Please keep it coming. matteob6 “Re(6):What are the best/worst heat pump syste” , posted Mon 28 Mar 21:39 ______________________________________________________________________ goodman if money is tight.carrier if money is right. rheem if you’re just plain tight. if you go with carrier go with variable speed air handler/furnace and infinity control very nice set up.
