Furnace BANGS when it shuts down

______________________________________________________________________ Please help! WHY oh WHY does our furnace bang so loudly after it turns off? It is a totally new system – brand new furnace, new humidifier, new AC unit – blah blah blah – so whats up? We have finished our basement and we want to use this space for sleeping when we have guests but unless we can reduce/get rid of that bang – there is no way we could expect someone to sleep down here. Any ideas? If you stand next to the unit find out what area it is coming from..If the filter is not the problem. tinner73 “Re(1):Furnace BANGS when it shuts down” , posted Wed 9 Feb 11:09 ______________________________________________________________________ is it the furnace banging or the ductwork itself? tammyschafer “Re(2):Furnace BANGS when it shuts down” , posted Wed 9 Feb 11:53 ______________________________________________________________________ I’m pretty sure it comes from somewhere in our utility room which would mean it is coming from the furnace. I don’t think it is in the ducts at all.
